Thoracoscopic Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery has reduced the risk, expense and trauma involved in thoracic surgeries. The laparoscopic approach used for the diagnosis and surgery of various lung conditions has remarkably improved the results of thoracic surgeries by reducing the post operative pain and speeding the patient’s return to their normal activities.

At AyILS, we believe that VATS (Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery) is the procedure of choice for diagnosis and treatment of pleural and lung diseases. In this procedure, tiny incisions are made and with the assistance of a video camera it becomes reasonably easy to explore the thoracic cavity.

The Ayushman team is globally recognized for its contribution in the field of Minimal access surgery. The AyILS team relocated to Max Hospital in 2009 and set up the Max Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic & Bariatric surgery which is now recognized as the Global Center of Excellence in Endosurgery.
