What is Thoracoscopy

Thoracoscopy is a procedure in which a thoracoscope (a thin telescope attached to a camera) is inserted in the chest cavity by making tiny incisions in the chest. This procedure may be done for the diagnosis of various lung conditions (by removing a portion of the lung for biopsy) or for therapeutic purposes. Thoracoscopy may be used to remove excess fluid from the pleural cavity
